Leaving? Steemit is not Facebook, We Don't Need a Long Drawn Explanation. Just Leave.
It seems it is still quite popular to point out that some people are leaving Steemit. A platform that pays you to write and participate in the platform. I have noticed that a lot of these accounts that are posting these "farewell" articles are not doing the one thing that would signal they are honestly doing it. Decline payout. Instead, these articles are either using the default 50/50 payout or they are using the "100% Powerup" option. Either one benefits the writer, you know the person that is supposedly quitting Steemit. If you are truly leaving then do these simple things.
When you decide you are leaving and are done with Steemit but just can't let go for whatever reason and write one more article. Decline payout. This will signify to the readers that something is wrong on your end and you are not just trying to game the system to get more upvotes to sway you to stay or something.
The second thing to do if you are truly leaving Steemit over whatever problem is to write one last post explaining why you are leaving. This will help others understand the situation. Detail your whole story. Don't just give us the "since the hard fork I got screwed" routine. Give us the whole picture. How was your earnings prior to the hard fork, how many articles did you produce, etc. That gives people reading your "last" article a good idea of exactly why you are leaving. Just don't forget to "decline payout" so we know you are serious.
Lastly, just leave. This is not Facebook. We don't need a long drawn out explanation that says absolutely nothing about the situation. Just leave. You want out, no one is forcing you to stay. The power down process is shorter than ever before (13 weeks) and you can easily cash out your Steem Dollars and Steem via third party exchanges now. Believe me, you think it is rough now, you should have been here before the exchanges accepted Steemit options and you had to wait 204 weeks to fully power down.
Anyhow, as the old saying goes, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
For the rest of us, we are going to be here producing new, original, content and making Steemit a better place for those that wish to stick around and work towards that goal too.
Well said. Some people seem to announce they are leaving every few days - seems they aren't very good at doing it. I don't have a problem with people who have genuine issues or are having problems but one gets the impression that some people just do it for attention.

Yeah, kinda like dan.
If anyone needs any assistance "leaving" I will gladly land a hand.
I have bad gas and I can't seem to release it. Can you lend me some force?
I need a beer :)
Reminds me of the 'Closing Down Sale' that lasts for years.
If you are going to go, just close the door behind you. Quietly.
Yeah! I forgot about those. Great analogy.
Those who are announcing their departure are likely hoping someone will give them a reason not to leave.
If they give more than just a simple "Screw this" type post and actually give some information on why they are leaving then, sure, I could see people interacting with them with intent to help them stay and foster a better community. That takes more than just a one sentence F off to the community here.
Then there are others that drag it out trying to create drama over the situation and don't ever actually state what is wrong - those are who I wrote this article for. Those types just want attention.
I agree with what all that you have said @triverse
But, they could just keep 1/3rd of their resources in STEEM, SP, or SBD since Steemit is ALSO considered as a safe, secure, and online/blockchain wallet...
Wow... You give satire words to people who want leaving steemit. Okay I know your idea... If someone want to leave steemit, just go away. If want to leave and tell the reason that will be a good way to say good bye. Nice !
Word UP!!!
