Root Searching

It’s a good instinct that human beings tend to search for their roots. This can usually help people get to know better who they are today. However, root searching can be tedious, and often it requires an adventurous spirit.

Should we trace back to the origin of humanity, indeed it is like going through a faith journey. For certain people, they have the opportunity to browse through their genealogy, and find the name of their first recorded forefather. And for those who believe that they were created by God, then God is the Creator and the Father of the very first human being. Therefore, as created human beings, it is vital to be grateful to Him and find out His purpose of creating human beings.

Comparatively, it is more feasible to visit the place where we lived a few decades ago. To do so we may see how we have grown over the years. The person may have a humble beginning, but is now enjoying a higher standard of living. Hence, such a visit can enable us not to take things for granted, but rather be grateful for what we have now.

Indeed, it is always good to be grateful, and root searching can be a related and meaningful event.

Half a century ago we stayed in this village. We later moved to a suburb area with modern facilities.

When we were young, our family used bamboo pipe to convey water.

The village trail has not changed much with the times.

The above photos are supplied by my elder brother who adventurously visited our childhood place.
