Application for Delegation - Let me Flag Shit to Nirvana

in #steemit6 years ago (edited)

I usually ignore Trending

As most of the posts there have been shit since ages - not blaming anyone - can be the linear reward system that enabled bid bots (I like some of them for sure!), could be circle jerks but since yesterday I am really scared - much more than ever. Where can I apply for some massive delegation to flag shit!? Never thought I would ever write this but I think it is time to join and flag some really really really bad content! The funny thing is these guys even consider their posts as Art or good quality - lol.

Come on Steemit Whales with Super Power

Even if you have your own bid bot! Can we agree that shit here is not worth to be on trending? I would rather say this shit not even deserves one single $!

Check these posts, go to their profiles as well! You will find hilarious Quality Content in the post and comment sections! Let me know how impressed you are!

Chapeau for using the system to your favour - intelligent move!

IF YOU DON'T GIVE DELEGATION TO UWELANG, GIVE IT TO ME!!
I also tend to ignore the trending page, but the lake is drying up and I had to see where all that water was going. This shit has gone way too far. All the best work is falling to the bottom while absolute garbage is being passed off as art and they're making off like a freaking bandit.

You guys know I don't get like this. I've never gotten like this in the nearly 2 years I've been here. Enough is enough.

I would support this! Great guy, great photographer! give both of us 2 million SP and we are happy

Flagging is not lucrative enough for whales :-)
We should change the tag trending page to trash page that would be more precise.

I'm out / off skiing - life goes on :-)

It's about more than personal profit. There's only so much you can spend. This is about making Steemit a better place for all. I'll support some of the flagging efforts even if it means losing some rewards for myself. Let's see what sort of platform the whales really want.

We are not in charge of the systems. Those who are do not seem to be interested in helping with this problem. Thus, we find ourselves where we are right now.

Then you have your answer. The initiative is pointless. It will only divide the community. Waste of SP and waste of time. You really only have one option here on steemit...

Can't beat them, Might as well join them.

The fundamental flaw of the system will need to be addressed soon enough.
It's like a cancer. You don't correct skin cancer by applying more sunscreen. You don't ignore skin cancer either. Time is no longer on your side.

That is wholly your opinion. One that I do not agree with in the slightest. Not at all a fact, as it appears you don't understand enough about how this place works to have this conversation. You may think it's a waste of time and energy, but it's not your time and energy if you don't want to help.

This is not cancer, so stop comparing a situation on a social media network to it. That's ridiculous.

My mother died of cancer 5 months ago, so I can get into detail about what cancer does to the human body if you really want, but I'd rather not, because it's 100% irrelevant. That is an absolutely horrible comparison.

I'd rather talk about Steemit and how to clean it up. If you don't want to have that conversation, then get out of the way, because I know my mind is made up. It looks like other minds are as well.

Calm down there sweet pea. I don't select words with a limitations such as "will they offend someone".

YOU CHOSE TO TAKE OFFENSE.

Condolences for you loss but you are are not my problem.
I will continue to use the words I see fit.

No you're just being a condescending asshole. I'll see fit to mute you just for being an asshole. Bye.

it will only divide the community

Not sure if you've been paying attention, but that's already a reality. You can't polarize what's already polarized.

I know.
But the new wave of bambi's don't look to the past. They only look forward onto the oncoming headlights thinking that they can outsmart the inevitable.

Policing obviously does work as most of us can live normal lives. Steemit offers freedom and so it's up to the community to police it when people abuse it

I disagree. It's a short term solution. Education and collective agreement is the only way. That must involve the ones who control the system though. So not going to happen.

They have no intention to do such a thing. As it's a fundamental to their profits model. You're pushing shit up hill as a user if you don't agree with it. You can only try to exist along side those that utilize the system correctly (voting bots IS the system).

I honestly don't think Steemit Inc have a long term plan for steemit. Proof is in the detachment which occurred last year. Succeed or fail, they go on with other projects such as SMTs.

The only solution from a community perspective is a hard fork which will give rise to a new steemit where bots are no more. Human voting is paramount and organic growth and sustainability is once again probable.

If you disagree with this, then you don't want to accept truth.

We each have an opinion. It's going to be interesting to see if Steemit can grow to millions. Then the economics may change

@steevc you should check out this video..

It's long but worth the view if you do have desire for a better system.
It's a project in early development. Called embermine.

One you research it, you will come to realize it aims to be what steemit could have been.
As I said though, it's in early development, It has an long term plan. Worth keeping an eye on. The system implemented is essentially rewards well thought out. So it does have potential.

It seems to me that all of the top votes were purchased.

sure they are and below the bought top votes some a bit higher ones from a circle-jerk - even that is bad I could live with this if the content would only somehow be of a little bit quality - but look at it - not only one post but also the others.

One of them tried bidding 180 SBD for a vote, but that was over the limit. He is spending hundreds on votes to trend, but does that mean a profit? I've heard some say you don't actually make money that way. I can accept that people use the bots to get a little more 'exposure', but this is serious money. Of course those running the bots are quite happy to take the money and they are doing really well from it. There must be some sort of bidding war going on to get the big votes. I'm just not going to play that game. There are some people setting up accounts we can delegate to that will flag posts with excessive rewards. That may be a more effective way to do it and give a degree of anonymity. I really don't care about losing some curation rewards. I just want to see good content rewarded from a more diverse set of users. This is why I have delegated so much already. Much of that gains me nothing in return.

I note that several big Steemit players are voting on these. Are they just following the bots? I think they should be conscious of the content they support.

What these guys are do is simply more than excessive vote buying. I have no problem if people buy votes to promote or even get ROI for their posts but their crap content is so shit! No way I can be calm. Of course the bid bot has a client relationship and if they pay the bot votes but they should add them on a black list moving forward if e.g. @steemcleaners adds them to their black list.

For sure they make no profit from buying the votes - what concerns me most is they defend their work as quality or ART lol - OMG - i would laugh a bit if i would be not sad looking at their posts. This has to stop in my opinion - I can not do a lot about it apart from saying it.

I'll be willing to back off a bit on my standpoint about vote buying if it means we have a way of calling bullshit on bullshit content raking in excessive rewards.

I think we need the flagging accounts to be non-posting so they cannot be flagged and so nobody can be accused of benefiting from the delegation. @hendrix22 has a couple already. I'll support others that do this.

Wouldn't it be great if one could buy flags?!

No way that could end badly :) I'd expect someone to offer it if there is demand. Money talks

Money talks loudly... and wars never lack budget, so you are right, this could end badly ;)
I guess we'll need a flagging culture for everyone, as strong as the upvote culture. For now, steemit is just too positive for that, and everybody is scared of being critical.
(sorry, some unfinished thoughts)

This sounds like a possible soloution.

I would love to talk with you.

I, as well, think, that this is, by far, no quality content.

But take a look at their transaction page and see what's behind.

There are a lot of Bots involved in this type of promotion and it's unlikely that they'll get enough out of in. It looks more like they invested too much.
But, sadly, it looks like a circle-jerk as well, yes.

Flysky seems to be making a good profit margin by abusing Steemit.
And that is no "Quality Content" either. Oi vey.

Currently, I am too tired to do further checking - but from what I've seen, this is just dumb. :/

Yep - that was the reason of the post - i think none of them will make ROI at all - for sure it is a circle-jerk - maybe all the accounts are just one person. Maybe the persons should they be individuals learned this behaviour in a certain steemit school - we will see. The truth will be revealed soon I am sure.

Dude, the guy has invested more than 1000 sbd in booster and can't even get a part of it out and now the downvoting really starts. RIP!

The best thing is that they still say thank you for a downvote.

I think they do not understand this - which is bad enough lol

ja, bei Branding sehe ich vielleicht 2-3 mal im Monat hinein, aber nur um zu checken ob es was wirklich wichtiges nerviges gibt ;-) Und ja, was soll ich sagen, es gibt immer was dabei

I really so much LOVE the gif!

@uwelang I wish you the best in this initiative. I think your right it's our of control.
