Tradition versus sensibility

in #steemit7 years ago

If someone is being told since he/she was a child that eating meat will make them strong and drinking milk will make their bones healthy they will certainly believe this. Even though it's wrong. When we were born we didn't choose what to be fed by our parents, they decided what is better for us and now full grown people should decide for themselves, is meat healthy for their bodies? Short answer: no.

Tradition sometimes might imply stupidity by the simple fact that old information is passed through generations, it's like using a 1970's tv just for the sake of tradition, the same goes with food. Why should we eat the standards of 20th century? Now we have resources, we have all sorts of 'exotic' foods that many of us didn't even heard of but we choose to go with the good ol' cow milk instead of doing research. People tend to listen to their parents and the most strange thing is that kids consider their parents being stupid, outdated and inferior to them, when in reality, they are just the same as their parents: they don't exit their comfort zone to do research, to live a better life, to have more energy, to be more healthy. The burger is the solution in their concept. But the reality says the otherwise:

Just by having a look on the streets no matter where you live you get a hint about how sick is the current society. Propaganda saying milk is healthy, eggs are healthy, meat is healthy everywhere where in reality it is detrimental for our health. It is all about the money. Our parents teach us what is best for us but they don't even know what is best for themselves. This has to stop. The misinformation has to stop. The ignorance has to stop. People need to see what horrors happen daily in slaughterhouses, millions of animals are slaughtered each day just for profit. It is not good for us, not good for them obviously but it's good for the wallets of multi-million dollar meat industry entrepreneurs.

Tradition 200 years ago told us that it is okay to have slaves. Now it's forbidden. In 20 years we hope that meat, dairy, eggs and cruelty industry's products will be forbidden too. Killing animals for any kind of purpose is completely unnecessary. Do your research. Educate yourself. Don't be manipulated and live a better life. GO VEGAN!
