i am completely agree with you and as i am not old enough on steemit but still i think we don`t need to vote our own post but then in the same way they select upvote option automatically to your post to get an upvote for yourself. My question is why they tick on upvote in beginning of every article automatically?
It was good before to get your post started but now I don't think it's needed
any good suggestions about increasing your reputation?
To increase your rep you need to gain more upvotes on your posts

Well the bigger the upvote the better
Or only remove it for comments but keep it for posts, since comments are a lot quicker and easier to write than posts
