I did Karate for many years and some Wing Chun.
Doing any form of martial arts is highly beneficial for any age, as it teaches self defense rather than fighting, which those who have not done it, don't fully understand.
I know my sensei's also were teaching self awareness, self discipline and self esteem along with the self defense.
Sorry to hear about the broken rib, they are annoying and not much you can do but let them heal, without any big laughing LOL 😉
lol it has been difficult trying to not laugh or sneeze these days. I totally agree with you, learning martial arts with self defense focus is more valuable for me. The professor of my professor, Royler Gracie believes in BJJ learning for self defense, I had the opportunity to attend to one of his seminars in Arizona, and techniques were all related to self defense moves.
