Impressive stuff. Society tries to put us all in boxes ( for good reasons as well as bad), but often the boxes don't fit. Great to see you are taking on the work to help Jude (and yourself too, cos you'll get lots our of this). So often you see people blame the teachers or the kids or whatever, but still expecting someone else to make the change and effort.

By the way I'm not a parent. But I did train as a psychiatric nurse and my first job (for a year and a half) was working in a psychiatric adolescent unit. That was 20 years ago. I still think about those kids.
