ANIMALS WERE HER BEST FRIENDS

There once was a little girl who just loved animals. She used to walk through the forest looking for them. She lived with her family in a small little house by the river running through the forest. She was an only child and had no friends to play with.

That is how she became friends with the animals in the forest. They all loved her very much. The birds and the monkeys as well as the deer all loved her. She knew just what they liked to eat and always took something for them with her. All animal use to sit around: and wait when they heard her singing in the forest. They knew that she was on her way with something they liked to eat. 

She used to bring a basket with her and had all the treats in it. One day she came across a little rabbit, and he was crying terrible.

My dear sweet darling rabbit why are you crying? She asked. He told her that he had lost his way and could not find his family. Oh sweetheart how long ago did you start feeling lost? He told her that he actually always felt lost as he was the smallest of them all and they never played with him. Now he tried to run after them and he could not find anyone.

The little girl sat on her knee and told him, she will open her basket and then the animals will come to her. While they all got a treat from her she will ask them to look out for his family.

“Thank you that will be so kind of you” the little rabbit said. She opened her basket and one by one the animals started coming to eat. First it was the monkey, he was always hungry and she gave him a banana.

She said you can jump all over the trees and look down will you please look for the little rabbit’s family. If you find them I will give you another banana. Sure and off the monkey went.

Next came the birds, the first one was a dove and he loved being fed by her. She gave him some food and said you can fly very high. “Will you look for the rabbit’s family please; when you come back I will feed you more. Then a little deer that she fed and asked him the same question as he could run all over and see if he could find the family.

They kept coming and coming all the time all different animals and she fed and asked them all, she took pictures of them that when she was lonely at home she could look at them and feel happy because they were her friends.

They all laughed when they saw the pictures of themselves as they did not have mirrors and never knew what they looked like.There was even a mother elephant and her baby as the mother wanted a picture of the baby.

 After all the animals had come she said did any of you find the family of this little rabbit. Not one wanted to tell her, but the bear had found three of his siblings and the rest were gone. The animals knew that the nasty wolf ate them all and whispered in her ear what had happened. 

She felt so sorry for the little rabbit, and here comes the bear with part of his the rabbits family.

When the little rabbit saw them he was so pleased. They were just as happy to see him and promised that the four of them will look after each other from now on.

 So if you have a family, care for them and don’t run away from the little ones as they can really get lost. All the animals promised to help and look after the rabbits as they had lost the rest of the family. 

It just shows you that no matter what kind of person or animal you are, we must all look after each other and help out where we can.
