In many ways, I think what troubles the world is the way everything has "shortened." We never seem to have time for anything. And that also means that people think more about "this week" and "today," than they think about "10 years from now," and "two generations from now."
We need to get back to long term responsibility. Choices have consequences, and many of them last beyond our lifetimes.
Very cool that they did choose to protect the beach in Thailand, though!
I so agree life has become one big rush and all people care about is their own ways. When I was young we were taught to be caring of nature and all people we meet. We still had respect for grownups and we looked after what we got as it was not an easy life.
