Children enjoy so much these holidays even more than summer. And it is not only the Christmas spirit and the allegorical things that compose this time of the year. It's just the possibilities they encounter, which span beyond the simple glee.

There's a lot to learn on Christmas vacation. Even when those big families get together for dinner, these moments can be rewarding in terms of wisdom. This is something that is overlooked, but happens in the background without the child noticing it.

You may wonder how that is possible? The question is valid because during the celebration is sometimes hard to realize about the learning experiences that are taking place.

And to prove my point, I'm going to detail the learning process through some common scenarios.

Boxing day

During the boxing the day there are a lot of activities arranged. One that is being very popular are sports. It is now natural to see many games in different disciplines along this day. In England, for instance, it is kind of a sacred day for soccer. There are games carefully organized to please fans. And since it's Christmas time, the ones who enjoy the most are children.

The premier league takes this into consideration. They know that most children are not able to assist most of the matches in the regular season because these games are often late at night, and children have to go to school. So they don't take vacation. They know children, who even at a young age are raving fans, eagerly wait for this time off from school.

Hence, it is common to see children accompanied by their fathers or grandfathers in the stadiums. These are precious moments not only because children are enjoying their passion, they also are spending valuable to time with their parents. They comment about what's going on during the game, but the most important thing is the connection that is established between sons, daughters and parents.

Some might say that this is just mere sentiment, but for me it's about growing emotionally and learning how to connect, which is something that is rarely seen nowadays.

Christmas Eve

Apart from the tree and gifts, the moment when you and your family gather can also be a learning experience. And even if those moments are not so pleasant (Many people go through this), you can grasp new things about the people that are around you.

You can observe how much they have changed during the year. Do they have the same goals or other priorities just came up? What new ideas do they have or just they remain the same?

These are important queries that you can get answers from them by just getting together. Now what is this useful for?

Well, you can use this information to know more about the human behavior. To know how people react and act on things they have gone through.

This helps a lot when it comes about studying the society you interact with. It also helps to put in a canvas their situation and see how things have progressed for them. And in turn, you can use this analysis to give some advises to those who need them or provide recommendations that might solve any hard situation.

History

Though Christmas is related to Christianity, the true thing is that the real real birth of Jesus Christ didn't take place on December, 25th. That's for starter. However, this can be a stimulus for people to investigate more about the his origin. And not for the mere purpose of converting into a specific religion. It's more about getting to know someone that changed significantly our lives independently what each each may believe.

In the same regard, it is an excellent opportunity to study all the facts that surround him, events that led to his birth and life, knowledge that was given to people to pass through. It's just a rich pool where we all can fish from.

So, we can use this time to learn no matter how old we are. Children and adults have the possibilities to absorb information even without noticing it. And if it happens while you're having fun, the experience can be much more rewarding.
