Create a Good Relationships Between Teacher and Students
Kevin is a grade 2 high school student who is known as a diligent and accomplished boy. One day, while taking an English lesson from Mrs. Diana, Kevin was seen yawning and his face looked shabby. Mrs. Diana tried to refrain from rebuking Kevin's actions. However, as Kevin continues to evaporate, Mrs. Diana is finally offended by Kevin's disrespect. Then Mrs. Diana scolded him. "Kevin, I have been watching you yawn. If you do not like my lesson, please come out!" Said Mrs. Diana. Kevin who feels treated harshly from his teacher leaves the classroom and leaves school. He then did not go to school for a few days.
Why is Kevin constantly yawning? No one knows why. Mrs. Diana tries to find out about Kevin's true condition. From counseling tutors then Kevin's problems are revealed. Apparently, Kevin was sleepy because he did not sleep all night. He took care of his mother at the hospital. The previous night his mother was taken to the hospital for a high fever and still in doctor's observation. Kevin's father is on duty outside the city. Kevin was the first child among three siblings. His father relied on him. Initially, Kevin wanted to ask permission not to go to school. However, because he did not want to be left behind in his favorite English subjects, he forced himself to go to school even though his condition was not prime.
After the incident, Kevin no longer likes Mrs. Diana, as well as English lessons. There are reasons to avoid the lesson. Miss Diana also lost a diligent and achieving child in her class.
What can be learned from the story above? Suppose Mrs. Diana digs the information first before deciding to remove Kevin from the class, the decisions and steps she takes will be different. Then, how to dig information? Of course through communication. By communicating, information can be extracted before making a decision.
Every decision taken must involve accurate information. For a doctor, any prescribed prescription should be diagnosed. These are the principles manifested in many areas of life. This is the hallmark of all true professionals. It is very important for eyeglasses, doctors, professional teachers, architects who will design the building, and other professions.
Communication is the process of sending and receiving information or messages between two or more people in an effective way so that the intended message can be understood. Communication is the most important skill in life. Most of the time people are spent communicating. Communication is not just a spoken word. The tone of voice, facial expression, and body language have played a major role in human efforts to understand each other.
Think about it, people have spent years learning to read and write, years of learning to talk. But how to listen well? Training or education that people already get that enables them to listen so that they really understand others deeply within the frame of reference of the individual himself?
There is a wise expression: The base of knowledge is to hear the best, then to understand it and then remember it. And the last one once practiced and disseminated knowledge to be utilized. God gives man two ears and one mouth in order that they hear more than speak. Sometimes just by listening, a person can strengthen others who are overwhelmed by sadness or difficulty. Admittedly, listening is not an option taken with joy. Most people would rather talk instead?
Let's reflect. Humans love to express ideas, accentuate opinions and feelings, and show off positions. Many people do not want to listen. They prefer to speak and be heard. Hence, they focus more on the words to be spoken than to give full attention to what others are saying. In addition, people often value the words of others based on their own opinions and needs. When viewed from the negative side, listening to the person who is talking to us is a thing that feels heavy and sometimes burdensome. However, in terms of positive position, by getting used to listen to others, we can solve most of the problems we are facing. Listening to people talking and accepting other people's opinions also means being willing to open up and accept all the input. This is a trait that describes our willingness to accept the advantages and disadvantages, especially our own advantages and disadvantages, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of others.
