What is the configuration of an airport?

Its the number and relative orientations of one or more runways on an airfield.
Or
Configuration of an airport is the location of the runway relative to the termimal area and the control tower.
In some instance you may be able to see that that the runway aligning system relative to the dwelling place will take different shapes, and for this reason we talk of the runway configuration.
This depends on the

aesthetics

cost

availability of land

code of operation

climate

etc

We have few ways of which the runway o an airport can be configured and they include.

1 single runway :

This runway indicates the single path or lane at which the airplane follows for its take of or landing activity.
This type o runway is mostly used and found in areas where the availability of land is at deficient and design meet.

2 parallel runway.

This type of run way is directly parallel to another lane or runway and also to the Anfield or the dwelling area of the airport.
Its there for the land and take off activity of the airline.
Its a two lane runway

3 double parallel runway :

This runway with four lane is always parallel to the dwelling area and its depends on the traffic or the airport operation service that is required and the design specification.

4 intersecting runway :

This type of runway as its name makes an Interception with each other.
This runways are design in areas where there is enough land area to design and its most times designed with beuty

5 open-v runway:

This type of runway form the v shape lane for both landing and take off and its designed for aesthetics and requirement.

This is highly educative. I think the open-v runway can be constructed where there is enough space.
