Measuring Weights and Introduction to One Gram

To measure weight of objects we can use two standards first one is Metric Standard and second is North American Standard.

Today we will talk about Metric System to measure weights of objects. Below is the activity I prepared to introduce basic unit of weight in metric system.

Can you think about more examples of 1 gram (1g) weight?

Can you imagine examples of 10 gram (10g) weight?

Can you imagine examples of 100g objects from daily life?

Now can you give some examples of 1000g objects from your daily life?

Right, but in elementary math they are one and the same thing. Even measuring scales are in grams, kg or ounces or pounds to measure weight (using units of mass)!

So weight is mass using the earth's gravity as the standard. But Earth's gravity is not the same in all points on Earth.

good examples for the concept of what is the weight of 1 gram

How nice it is to go through your blog and see a highly productive and educational material, as well as for children, youth and adults. I like very much. God bless every step of your day: Greetings

Thanks for you kind words!!

I asked myself can I really know the weight of an object just by looking at it, for 1g I would say an office pin can be 1g, a pen 10g and I have seen some drugs written 100g. Nice post sir

You are right @ogejoy, we can't guess 1g by looking at small size of an object as some of them can be heavier than I gram. Yes certain size of specific objects can be 1g as a pinch of salt, or a small paperclip. Thanks for your valuable feedback!

Thank you sir
