Reading is one of the best ways of learning a new language. Even though it may sound like a boring activity, it supports learners in lots of different ways while learning a new language. Reading is the key which opens the way to all other skills.
There are lots of grammar rules in English. If you want to know how they are used and get the habit of understanding them quickly, you need to see them again and again which happens through reading. Your book in the language you are learning has to be your best friend.
Grammar is not enough in using a language. Learning vocabulary is essential to be active. The best source of vocabulary is a book where we can see lots of new words and the ways of using them.
Reading is totally linked to other skills. Imagine a student trying to understand a recording in English language. If you don't know the words or grammar used in that recording, you will never be able to understand it fully. Therefore, get that book as soon as possible.
Writing also needs the help of reading. When a student wants to produce something by himself or herself, that student needs some ideas. In order to get some ideas, the best sources to use once again are books!
In my opinion, these example are clear enough to show the importance of reading in learning a new language. Reading is hard work. However, when it is done effectively, it really helps language learners. It is essential for teachers to lead their students into reading habits and students must be eager to read as much as possible!
