Cordova Alaska small town BIG Adventures
Hello All,
Another week in the life of a travelling CPA. I sit here reading, writing, and enjoying my down time while soaking in the beautiful scenery of the vibrant yet cloudy, coastal, fishing village of Cordova, Alaska.
While I relax with a freshly poured, Alaska Hopthermia, beer in hand I contemplate how many times I have regretfully allowed my fast-paced career engulf large portions of my life when I have the potential to be one with my surroundings.
This is not a new thought process as I once strived to live my life in accordance with the sun, stars, weather, and friends. The inspiration for each day came as the sun arose out of the East. The path for me was paved in the hopes that nature would talk to me, enlighten me, fortify my well being while I stood in solidarity with Mother Earth. I stood, she spoke, but even Mother Earth couldn't hold back my ambition, strive, and need to compete with the suits in the ego filled arena of finance and management.
While I love my job, my clients, my coworkers, I know I sacrificed my relationship with nature, with being, with long term bliss to trek across the great State of Alaska performing public service while catching moments of solitude between clients.
These quaint moments of extreme profoundness with picturesque backdrops remind me that at the end of the day: be yourself, enjoy your day, and strive for more!
Cheers
