There's a saying that goes like this "Show me your friends and I'll tell you who you are". So, you must ask important questions about his closest friends... What do they do, say & watch when they are together?
What are their Values?
What kind of influence do they have on him?
Are his friends comfortable with you or not?
Are you comfortable with his friends?
If his set of friends do not change, what kind of future is he likely to have?
The influence of friends cannot be overemphasized, you need to know the people he respects & listens to.
