It's hard to explain people where the value comes from as they would need to have a decent economic fundamentals to understand what is going on.
I have tried to talk with my friends about steem and crypto in general but somehow, they seem to be highly sceptical about it. Don't know, i guess price increase will eventually make them change they mind...
