Initially I planned to do so yes, but I have changed my mind. I plan to keep them and melt them into nice bars. Also I'll try to chemically extract the gold in the future, from the gold plated pins and teeth. Some things though, like in this case the ink cartridges for which I have no use, yeah I'll sell them:)
But it's still a new hobby I started so might change my mind again :p I'll just go with the flow and have fun, I am not doing this for the money, at least not for now
You can melt aluminium (melting point of around 600 degrees) in your backyard with bbq coals but everything else is gonna need a good furnace,tongs, protective wear, melting pot and fuel.
You can't reach temperature of 800+ celsius without that dedicated equipment and that can be costly.

I know it's costly, but I have a friend who owns furnaces and everything :D
I was thinking of buying some gold ingot and silver ingots just to have something to hold and play around with every now and then heh
