I played Magic The Gathering when I was younger, like so many of us. I loved the game, the cards, everything about it. It brought me closer to my friends, it taught me most of what I know about strategy... it was a way of life.
To see this incredibly innovative idea come to the Steem Blockchain is like the fulfillment of a childhood fantasy for me.
I saw this very quickly and clearly as more than a game. With these cards (virtual they may be) comes blockchain-backed ownership. This revolutionary idea ensures that not only will the blockchain keep track of our collections with all their stats and levels, but also that we will maintain ownership of these crypto assets as their value fluctuates.
Is it super satisfying to buy Steem Monster Booster Packs? Hell Yes! But it's also an investment. It's an investment in something worth believing in, but an investment nonetheless.
And I know you #SteemMonster peeps are just dying to see my collection...

Nice! They have said there's no reason to keep duplicate cards other than trading/selling. I've been combining all my duplicates...

Yeah, if it was only collecting "cards" I'd say it's a bad idea... But if it's a card game similar to Yu-Gi-Oh in a way (even if its way simpler) I'm excited for it SO MUCH!!
Yep, one more step closer to mass adoption! Hope some good projects will follow too.
After over a year of researching blockchains, I'm more excited about #steemmonsters than almost anything else I've seen... And Steem is the only blockchain that can handle it ;)
