I just looked through the monsters last week to see which one reminds me a christmas character and I agree, Goblin Sorcerer reminds one the most.
I think it's because of the red hat. He doesn't seem to be a happy elf tho just as you said, so he can be the SteemMonsters version of Grinch probably. :D
