SteemMonsters: To Max Cards or Keep them Level 1

Hello SteemMonsters fans.

Another day, another opportunity to battle your monsters in the SteemMonsters arena -> exciting. 😎

Today I would like to comment whether it is worthwhile to Max your cards (fully level up) or to keep them at the base level 1.

I think the biggest part of this decision is whether you absolutely must climb the leaderboard NOW or whether you can wait some time for tournaments and when the game will allow the earning of XP through play down the track.

Leaderboard NOW: Well you will have ZERO chance to climb the current leaderboard without a max deck. So if that is your goal, then you will have to start leveling your cards by combining them. They are much much stronger at higher levels then at level 1.

Take the Enchanted Pixie as an example:- Although always a rather good card, it has increased stats as below making it an important addition to your team at the highest levels.

Level 1 -> level 8
1 Attack -> 2 Attack
2 Speed -> 4 Speed
0 Shield -> 0 Shield
1 Health -> 4 Health
Flying Ability -> Flying and Inspire Abilities

However, leveling cards is EXPENSIVE - the money can really add up quickly. if you can wait for when the game introduces the ability to gain XP from playing -> you can still have the opportunity to get leveled cards, but without the cost.
