Contest: Tell us about your leisure time🕞

Whenever someone ask me how I spend my leisure time, I always feel like I should say something more impressive than the truth. But truth is simple — I surf the internet, I read, I watch football, and honestly, I sleep a lot too. No fancy hobbies, no exotic adventures. Just the ordinary things that makes me feel like myself again after a tiring day.

How do you usually spend your leisure time?

Most of my free time, if I'm being honest, goes into surfing the internet. It's the first thing I do when I get a free moment and most of the time the last thing I do before falling asleep too. I jump between articles, videos, random topics, anything that catch my attention — there's no real plan to it, and that's the fun part.

On top of that, some days I pick up a book when my mind feel restless and need something slower. If there's a football match on, especially my favorite team playing, the whole evening revolve around that only. And then there are days where I just go straight to bed and sleep for hours, because sometimes rest is the only thing that actually helps.

What is your favorite hobby?

Surfing the internet is, without doubt, my favorite hobby. It might sound like a strange thing to call a "hobby," but for me, it really is one. I love how random it is, one moment I'm reading something not even related to my life, and next moment I'm watching a video that somehow make my whole day better. There's no pressure, no rules, no plan. I just go with whatever catch my interest in that moment.

Why do you enjoy this activity?

I enjoy surfing the internet because it always give me something new. Unlike reading a book, which need patience and focus, or football, which depend on whether there's a match happening, internet is always there, always got something different to offer.

One day I'm learning some random fact, next day I'm laughing at a video, and another day I'm just scrolling without thinking much — and somehow all of that feel satisfying. It fits whatever mood I'm in, whether I want entertainment, information, or just want to distract myself for a while.

How does your leisure time help you relax and refresh yourself?

Surfing the internet relax me because it don't demand much from me. I don't have to concentrate hard like reading, and I don't have to feel the intensity football brings. It's light, easy, and exactly what I need when my brain feel tired but I'm not ready to sleep yet.
Reading, when I do pick it up, slow my thoughts down in a different way, and football give me a burst of excitement that release whatever stress been building up.

But sleep still the deepest reset of all. After a long day of scrolling, reading, or shouting at a football match, nothing refresh me like finally closing my eyes and switching off completely. Together, all four balance each other out and leave me feeling lighter by end of the day.

Do you prefer spending your leisure time alone or with others?

Surfing the internet is almost always a solo thing for me, though sometimes I send a funny video or interesting article to a friend, which turn it into small shared moment. Reading and sleeping also things I prefer doing completely alone, without noise or interruption.

Football though, is the one activity where I really enjoy company. Watching match alone is fine, but watching with friends or family, reacting to every near miss and goal together, make the experience feel alive in a way solo watching never really match.

Finals Thought

So that's my leisure time — endless scrolling, occasional books, football chaos, and good amount of sleep too. Surfing the internet might not sound like "real" hobby to everyone, but it's the one thing I genuinely look forward every single day.

It's not glamorous, and definitely not productive in traditional sense, but it's real. And at the end of the day, leisure time isn't supposed to impress anyone — it's supposed to make you feel like yourself again, and for me, this mix does exactly that.
