Post-Production Underway

So we announced a while ago that we were producing a documentary about STEEM Park. It has been a long journey but we’re beginning the post-production phase with all the rich content from interviews, production, and installation back in July.

By working with the talented Timelapse Group, we wanted the film to achieve two key goals. First, give a simple overview of the STEEM blockchain and Steemit platform & community. There are no professionally made and succinct introductions to the technology and website so we hope to humanize the gravity of everything here. Second, of course, we wanted to tell the story of the whole story of the park project and especially why the STEEM blockchain is revolutionary for creative and design professions.

The project was, as we always explain it, the first public-interest project fully funded by public interest. To not have a rich client or government proposal behind a public project is unheard of in the public art / design world. This film will capture that message and hopefully stir many more creatives, agencies, and institutions to leverage STEEM and Steemit.

What’s In The Film?

Within the two key goals (detailed above), the film will contain the following -

  • Introduction to Cryptocurrency
  • Overview of STEEM and Steemit
  • Process of designing, fundraising, creating STEEM Park
  • Impact on the local community
  • Future Potential
  • Interviews with @hansikhouse & @voronoi of @hitheryon, @andrarchy, @mintvilla and Wayne Devonish (the Park Conservancy Founder)

We also have a bunch of amazing Steemians who attended the opening of STEEM Park and will appear in the timelapse footage… @prufarchy @roychoi @drbaker86 @dougkarr @ryan313 @krypto101 @nickytothenines @somethingburger @darius.woo @design-guy @calaber24p @ekpickle @agbaba were all there during the opening and hopefully we get beautiful cameos of each and every one of them!

Documentary Debut Date?

Stay tuned for later this month! With all the footage captured, we’re deep in the post-production phase of stitching content, editing video and audio, animating diagrams, and bringing in all the other critical elements concerning the work.

Until then, Steem on!

Nice to see a film is going to be released, can not wait to see it !

Amazing work on the Steempark @sndbox!

This is great! I'm a visual learner and a big fan of docs. Can't wait to watch.

Great! Do stay tuned =)

If the documentary is as high quality as the design in these past few blog posts have been, then I'm all for it! I often struggle explaining the concept and power behind STEEM so I'm excited to see how this documentary breaks it down.

Thanks for the vote of confidence @erickpinos!!

Cool to hear that there's going to be a documentary on Steemit! I am very much looking forward to it.

I am a microbudget filmmaker, who recently joined steemit (about 6 weeks ago). A couple of weeks ago, I decided to quit my fiction filmmaking and focus on making documentaries. I am excited to hear about this.

Keep us posted!

Awesome! We would love to get your feedback as it it's the first time attempting something of this level.

Looking forward to seeing the film to learn what you guys are trying to accomplish moving forward. I live in The Bronx, BTW.

Awesome, try to make it out to one of our social meetup events! We look forward to meeting you.

That would be lovely. If you guys have a mailing list that would be great soulsistashakti@gmail.com. You may enjoy my post from today about visiting Rockaway Beach yesterday on the new ferry :)

That's cool! Keep it up and good luck! :) @sndbox
