Happy Mothers Day!

in #steemph7 years ago (edited)

Yesterday, Me and our team from the Hope Channel went to the Local Parks in our City to distribute flowers for free to Mothers but the twist is, we need people to come and tell us about their mother then they will have Free roses.

HOW IT FEELS
So we headed on, and as we arrived in the place our nerves are beginning to feel overwhelmed. Xenophobia (fear for stranger) started to arise and people are shunning the huge cameras. We asked ourselves, will this work? For a rose, will it be worth for them to share about their mother? But Renz our co-producer said, it’s just first 7 minutes guys we still have a lot of time. We felt so small but with a heavy goal in mind we pursued the task. We wanted to know the answer to our question so we waited for the next hour. And Yes! Soon as we started to urge a person that’s it is not going to embarrass them, the flowers are real free. We earned their trust we got people who participated. Our goal in 3 hours is to get 12 people at most and for the first Park we met 11 participants. After an hour we gained much confidence now we went to the second park and got 8 more participants from children to mostly youth and also adults. We successfully hit our goal.

The QUESTION
To many of you imagining Mothers’ Day greetings might be like a happy birthday season, with all wonderful wishes but we realized this has not been the picture we thought now as much as we wanted to. I believe one of the biggest successes of an interviewer is the question that will bring out answers from the heart, So, Here is the Question:
“If you will be asking God something for your mom, what will it be?” More than just a wish this is a prayer they could share.

The Participants and their Stories
Upon our search of course we received “no’s” and this is common if people will see HD studio cameras but hearing their reasons can be surprising. We got one passerby said, “wala naman ko’y asawa” with his child on his side and the child said, “ayaw pag-binuang pa!”.

We also got an answer “unta mas mo daghan pa ang money ni mama”. This could mean very different so asked why? The youth said, “wala naman gud akong papa, gibiyaan nami daun si mama nalang karon nag-buhi sa amoa so love kaayo namo siya, Ma happy mothers day, pray mi unta happy lang atong family daun wala kaayo tay poblema ug unta maka kita ug lovelife puhon”

We are still touched in this inspiring message when we hear a following answer with this, “Happy Mothers Day sa akong mama, unta tagaan ka ug good health, long life ug unta mouli naka ma” and the teenager who shared this couldn’t finished. We were also shocked she instantly cried, it was hard to continue with the next greeting when she’s still crying so we hesitantly ask her, “naunsa man d-I imong mama?” She said, “g-biyaan naman gud mi nya, g-mingaw na kaayo ko niya, tua na sya sa lain”. When we heard this to be honest we were holding our tears back in despair we felt so bad for her. A mother is the queen of our homes they give rules and instructions, their hugs and kisses are healing when we are hurt and their words are wisdom as we grow they are our guide with the father that helps provide as they both work together as parents, and she loses that. What a big lost for her and we believe this isn’t just about her, her father had been suffering too. We don’t know the whole story and we also feel bad for her mom about her situation but it is our prayer that there will be healing for their relationship, I hope this won’t give a traumatic experience for the child. Our hearts felt so heavy we gave her a special prayer in the middle of the taping, she needs God. I remember a verse from Psalms says, “When my father and my mother forsake me,Then the Lord will take care of me.” Read more from Ps 27:10-14 it is a promising prayer from King David who has persevere with the Lord’s help only.

I can relate to this having friends, cousins and even our home is not far from this attack, It is an outlandish sight, the Lord forbids. Our Lord only allows pain if it is for the good of us, like a doctor who gives painful operation for us to be healed back but a kind of pain that will kill, destroy and steal our joy and relationship, that is the work of the enemy.

This mothers’ day we pray for mothers to be enlightened. You are very special. We pray that you will be treated well. God sees you, take good courage, do what is good not in the sight of men but in the sight of the Lord, have wisdom from above!

To children we pray that you will find healing even in worst situation it was said, God heals the broken heart and the afflicted! Please don’t lose hope! We can pray together and walk with God! You can still be joyful!

For fathers we pray that you will find strength in God as these days keeping our families aren’t always that easy. Please do not give up! May the Lord refresh you with gladness in the heart.

Our homes might be under this attack but we can all do one thing, PRAY! We need it now, maybe not for our homes only but mostly for others. It might be your bestfriend, your churchmate, officemate, or an acquaintance. Tell them today they are loved!

To the participants who have surprises for their moms this Sunday, we are happy for your family, we pray it will be strengthen as time goes by, build your family not in the sand but in the rock so when storms comes we can stand still. God bless everyone!

We ended our day with success of hitting our goal but with a bigger reason to pray for others.

To our Queen in our home, Mama Besing!
You have been my biggest encouragement thank you for not giving up with all the pain the world has this, you have clanged to God and we are more blessed to have you. We love you ma!
