As the new decade enters, eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao makes history again.
Pacquiao is the only boxer in the world to have been a world champion for four decades.
At the age of 19, Pacquiao made a noise in the 90s when he claimed his first world title in 1998 when he scored the eighth-round knockout win over Thailand's Chatchai Sasakul for the World Boxing Council flyweight title.
Pacquiao successfully resumed his elegant chamber in the 2000s.
In 2001, Lehlohonolo Ledwaba of South Africa was ousted to claim the International Boxing Federation super bantamweight belt.
Pacquiao's boxing career continued to shine during that decade after winning various titles in different divisions.
Pacquiao's name became even brighter in the 2010s.
Pacquiao lost the WBC junior middleweight title, the World Boxing Organization welterweight belt and the World Boxing Association welterweight crown.
So Pacquiao immediately set a new record for the 2020 season as he holds the WBA welterweight belt he won last year.
Pacquiao is set to defend his title this year. Pacquiao plans to return to the ring in April.
There is no final decision on who will fight it but a few names have been floated around such as Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter.
The prospect of Pacquiao and undefeated American fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. is not far off. in a rematch because the Pinoy champion himself confirmed that there is talk going on about it.
Pacquiao's camp is just waiting for Mayweather's decision on whether to rematch or remain retired.
