RE: Art-Venture Magazine No.262 - maybe the last one -
First, Thanks for including my work in this issue :-) The support is very appreciated.
Secondly, Don't feel bad about having a life outside this "Venture" you undertook. Communities has throw a lot of people off and for a loop. I would say create your own community and curate through that, But that may create more work in the end. Any effort to do good requires a HUGE investment of time. Especially if you want to do it right.
Maybe you want to talk to @carlgnash or someone like that.. He may have a few ideas for you or you can 'Farm' worthy blog posts from c-squared. They do a Awesome job of researching and weeding out the junk. A partnership of some sort may be nice and free up time to fix up your home.. lol. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
You guy's have been GREAT!! Lot of Love for you two!! :-)
Thank you @bdmillergallery for your support and for being so attentive, it is a pleasure to hear your supportive words. In the past when we were including some newcomers and were checking their posts after publishing few of them were visited by other curation trials. So felt our role was important to be an explorer and to help people to be recognized. Recently, there are many of them but despite of been so often in our Magazine and staying positive, producing beautiful works they have still have not recognition that they deserve only with our SP. So that is where we are now, the time will show what happens in future :)
It is certainly a time commitment to do a daily post and curation effort like this. I believe one or both of you may already have joined c-squared and have the "curator" role, but if not that is certainly an easy way to get a boost to any featured art posts that don't already have @c-squared vote on them (actually I think @momzillanc often drops off posts you feature that don't have c-squared vote already, so there may not be too many instances of posts you feature that don't already get c-squared vote). Feel free to drop off any such posts in the #art-curation channel in c-squared and we will hit them up with a vote though. (I am pretty sure you have already joined, but if not just join the c-squared discord at the link in the comment and ask for "curator" role in the general chat channel).
I agree with most of what you are saying about communities, the idea is good but the execution is deeply flawed IMO. I have no idea why steempeak team thought it was a good idea to make cross-posts into a community be their own post, that makes no sense to me. What we need is basically a way to "resteem" posts into communities, not cross post them. In other words, there should only be ONE post, and it should be possible to resteem that post into different communities so it can appear in the community feed just like resteeming a post currently makes it appear in your feed without making a new copy of the post.
I would personally say if you are feeling burned out and questioning the effort, maybe take a break or reduce the frequency of publication. Good luck!
You're perspective on resteeming into communities vs. cross-posting seems much more logical to me. Cross-posting feels like it's just eating up Steem members limited votes, particularly for newbies. From the chatter I've seen, I think we're may see downvote abuse as a punishment movement against cross-posters – which I feel would only make an ill-conceived idea into an incredibly damaging one for the platform as a whole.
Thank you @carlgnash for your nice comment and your supporting words. You are right I was previous on the way to become a curator and tried my first steps but then, it was just taking much time. That was the reason that we thought of creating a magazine and we have had only two of us and it was easy to make a decision who to support and just followed our hearts and emotions but of course making sure that they are new or undervalued artists who needed guidance. Also for short period of time I was a part of @NTopaz too but again it takes a lot of time and we are both really busy so we left it. It is just life, when we want to do both properly our normal daily work and curation properly it is difficult to combine. So now the decision is we still do what we were doing but with just direct upvoting and leaving our comments and guidance and of course we have our own blogs too with my Artworks and @myskye his photography that we still actively keep doing. Who knows what the future will bring :)
