Carnivore 75 Hard Redux: Day 38

Nutrition & Healing

22 hours fasted today. That's the shortest of the week. I typically eat more than one meal on weekends just because I'm home and it's both easy and tempting to do so. My wife and I are going out to dinner tomorrow for her birthday (which is today), but I'll probably eat something in the afternoon before we go. Only time will tell, though.

Today, I had a pretty gigantic meal, so maybe I won't even be hungry. It was the same basic thing I've been eating a lot lately. Some ground beef (both 85/15 grass-fed and 80/20 conventional), eggs, and bacon. The no cheese thing is still in effect, but I have had small amounts of butter. Mostly to cook my eggs in.

Mindset

I listened to this today during my commute to and from work via the Overcast app, but then I finished the episode on YouTube. In the past, when I wanted to share an episode of this podcast that I'd listened to the audio version of, it wasn't available on YouTube yet. It's nice to see this one up right away. Admittedly, I enjoy episodes like this better than the ones with athletes. While I do like to get some exercise in myself, I don't have much interest in listening to athletes a lot of the time. There are certainly exceptions to that, though.

Regenerative agriculture is definitely an interest of mine and I try to buy as much sustainable meat as I can, but I don't buy 100% grass-fed and grass-finished or pasture-raised beef. This is something I've mentioned before, but my longterm plan is to get a big freezer to put in our basement and then save up to buy a half cow raised locally on pasture. That will be something I can definitely fit into the budget, but until then, I will be buying as much grass-fed / grass-finished and pasture-raised beef as I can fit into the budget, but I'll be supplementing my supply with more conventional beef.

In this episode, Glenn Elzinga mentions selling ribeyes for (I shit you not) $60 a pound. That's the sort of thing I see on websites for ranches like this and just sort of laugh. It was still an interesting episode, though, and his farm sounds pretty awesome. They work it on horseback!

Movement

10,000+ steps today and all I had to do was go to work and the supermarket! As always, if you want to read more about it, click on the image below and you'll be transported to my daily Actifit post on the Steem blockchain.

Gosh, there is a lot to read... so can you maybe explain in a short way what your goals are in this lifestyle you are practising now? Or share the post URL where you explain it?

I see you are on (I assume) Day 38 of 'Carnivore Hard Redux' ... how long do you intend to continue and what outcomes are you expecting / hoping for?

Not meaning to be inquisitive but I am interested in health and lifestyle.
