My ArtVenture: Soft Pastel “G-Kar” ( Andreas Katsulas )
Hello dear Steemians,
Today I wanted to share this painting of one of the favorite character of popular series that was made in 1993 “Babylon-5”. This is a sci-fi story about the future where there is a space station that became a place for species from different planet.
The painting is of G-Kar who is the Ambassador of species called Narn, he is very direct and open and full of emotions , if he makes friends then for life. The relationship between two species whose governments do not understand each other, Narn and Centauri and two Ambassadors G-Kar and Londo. Being initially enemies they became good friends.
The Universe speaks in many languages, but only one voice.
The language is not Narn or Human or Centauri or Gaim or Minbari.
It speaks in the language of hope. It speaks in the language of trust.
It speaks in the language of strength, and the language of compassion.
It is the language of the heart and the language of the soul.
But always it is the same voice.
It is the voice of our ancestors speaking through us.
And the voice of our inheritors waiting to be born.
It is the small, still voice that says we are One.
No matter the blood, no matter the skin,
No matter the world, no matter the star,
We are One.
No matter the pain, no matter the darkness,
No matter the loss, no matter the fear.
We are One.
Here, gathered together in common cause
We agree to recognize this singular truth and this singular rule:
That we must be kind to one another.
Because each voice enriches us and ennobles us,
And each voice lost diminishes us.
We are the voice of the universe, the soul of creation,
The fire that will light the way to a better future.
We are One.

Ohhh you did such a great work Stef😊 He was one of my favourite characters, I was really sad when he died. Full of wisdom and he made a perfect couple with London. They both shared the tragic story of the Shadow War. I must watch the series again, lol

I absolutely agree with you, only because of this character I started to watch the series, otherwise it was mostly my husband, so like I mentioned we have all the seasons and usually Sunday afternoon is our home made Pizza day and the time for our favorite family series :)
I like the way he evolved in the series, at first season was more angry and scary but later gained a lot of depth as character, some quotes are really memorable:)

I think this TV series was a bit before my time so I am not familiar with it, but this is a really nice portrait, @stef1 :) The colours and how you detailed his face really accentuates that he is an alien life form, but also it captured his personality well. I can tell that he's the type that, once he makes a friend, it will be a friendship for life ! :) Wonderful portrait <3
Yes, you are right it was created decades ago, nevertheless seeing it today the subject and the thoughts, problems of interaction between the character have not been changed at all. I like the fact that the producers spent so much efforts to create alien species and everything was made with love to details. Thank you for your nice comment :)
