Great to see more people here trying to build a community on Steemit. I had the same objective to make a community around Sports Betting which was quite the struggle to get started. Making a monthly curation post where I highlite some of the betting related blogs putting them on my auto-upvote list really helped because it got the the ball rolling. @beat-the-bookies made us a discord channel and support bot (@sbcbot). @stimp1024 was generous to delegate a lot of SP for the community and it has really taken off ever since now having 30 whitelisted members who can use the bot to get support for free.

I used to be a huge Formula 1 Fan myself by the way (since 1994-1995 schumacher). A lot of the appeal got lost to me when all the artifical rules were introduces (drs, ers,...)
