MLB Weekend Roundup - Bartolo Returns?

Another week has come and gone, and still there has been little-to-no significant movement on the free agent front. This has undoubtedly been the slowest offseason that we have seen to develop in recent memory and some have hinted at possible collusion among the league’s owners in an effort to keep salaries down and limit excessive long-term contracts for veterans who are believed to be past their prime.
One of the more exciting announcements of the weekend came on Saturday, when Jesse Sanchez of MLB.com reported that Bartolo Colon was closing in on a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers. While no deal has been made official yet, there appears to be significant momentum toward one.
The rotund 44-year-old right-hander has long been a fan favorite due to to his svelte physique, his bulldog mentality on the hill and for the childlike joy and passion with which he has always approached the game.
He’s also just an incredibly fascinating human being in general. Consider this, in order to build his arm strength while growing up, he threw rocks at coconuts and mangos in his native Dominican Republic. He also used to ride his beloved donkey, Pancho, to the sandlot to play ball.

If you’re searching for Colon in the off-season, you can find him on Friday nights playing in a softball league in his native country. He does so only as a hitter, to show off his impressive power at the dish.
Colon leads all active MLB pitchers with 240 career victories. He has accumulated those wins over 20 seasons at the big league level and pitching for 10 different clubs (Indians, Expos, White Sox, Angels, Red Sox, Yankees, Athletics, Mets, Braves and Twins). Despite pitching poorly for much of the 2017 season, he still racked up 14 victories.
While pitching his home games in the hitter’s paradise that is Globe Life Park in Arlington seems like it would be a death sentence to his career, Colon isn’t ready to hang ‘em up just yet.
Let me just say, from one fan’s perspective, I’m glad that he hasn’t. He has provided 20 years of tremendous entertainment and I’m hopeful that we’ll get to see him lumber out to a big league mound at least one more time.

How about an article on players who have pitched in the bigs after their 45th birthday? I'd be curious to know what that list looks like and perhaps a few anecdotes about their success/hip replacement surgeries.

I'm not really a fan but thumb up I did enjoy it friend
