The Video of Geotropism - A Root Movement Towards the Earth's Core?
Greetings beloved steemian friend.
Motion is one of the characteristics possessed by every living creature. Plants also move like humans and animals that aims to respond to every stimulus it receives. This response capability is important for living things to survive and find food sources.
Plants do not have the human senses when receiving stimuli from both inside and outside. But plants are also capable of receiving stimuli as well but in different ways. Plants are sensitive to air, water, wind, earth tensile and touch. Many of us would love to play with embarrassed daughter plants (Mimosa indica) instead. Of course this plant is a plant that is very sensitive to touch, he will menguncupkan leaves when receiving stimuli of touch. This is one proof that plants are also moving but not moving.
According to Wikipedia;
Movement in plants is a recharge to stimulus (stimulus) both from within and from outside the individual. So the onset of motion in plants is evidence of irritability. For complete click here
Movement in plants is a reaction given to stimuli such as air, water, wind, tensile earth and touch, and so forth. How do plants respond to gravity?
According to Wikipedia;
Geotropism or gravitropism is the motion of tropism caused by the stimulation of the earth's gravitational force. There are two geotropisms: positive geotropism and negative geotropism. Positive geotropism is the movement of plant organs near the core of the earth. While negative geotropism is the opposite movement of the earth's gravity, away from the earth's core.
This is why the roots of plants are always perpendicular to the center of gravity of the earth. Because root movement always leads to the direction of stimulation so called Positive Geotropism. In this post we will see firsthand how the movement at the root when receiving the stimulus of earth's gravity through a short video given by Von Wangenheim and colleagues seprti reported by www.livescience.com.
Von Wangenheim and his comrades fired their growing root video as part of their research investigating the plant's response to gravity. They tilt the microscope on its side and rotate the plants on stage, but their tape indicates that the root always tilts downward, resulting in a gravitational pull as the tree grows, Nikon's representative reported. Conclusion
Motion is one of the characteristics of living things and as a living thing through this video recording we can see first hand how the process of geotropism occurs. A movement that is rooted due to the influence of stimulation on the roots due to the force of gravity of the earth.
This is all I can say and forgive me if there are still many mistakes I made. If you have any questions about this issue I would be very happy to re-dig and answer it. Please feel free to comment below this post

Good discussion. Plants look static but actually dynamic.
