Amazing Developments in Technology used in checkmating Human Survival!!

in #steemstem7 years ago

We cannot quantify the marvellous miracles worked by the presence of technology in the health sector.

In recent years, the health field has witness tremendous rise in the use of modern technology to battle and checkmate illness and also ensure healthy survival. There was a time where polio was the nightmare of children in Nigeria. Thanks to research and use of upgraded vaccines, Nigeria was declared polio free on 25th September 2015.

My focus here will not be the statistics but the equipments that have entered the health sector that are absolutely mind blowing and have made the delivery of health service easy.:

  • RAPEAL SMART GLOVE

Ever had an injury on your wrist before then you can tell how hurtful it is and what it takes to rehabilitate that wrist. Ladies and gentle men, meet the Smart Gloves that rehabilitates common wrist injuries using sensors that are connected to an app where they can play games customised to suit their need and also increasing the difficulty level as they progress

  • BLOOMLIFE

Ladies are not left out in this crazy surge of technology that has invaded the medical field. To be specific I mean expectant mothers. This device operates via electrophysiology to distinguish between labour contractions and Braxton-Hicks. It’s actually not sold but leased because it is only needed in the last weeks of pregnancy therefore making it quite affordable.

  • RIBA

Just yesterday, I happened to be in the theatre with the surgical team for a caesarean section. After the whole stuff we had to carefully and logically lift the client from the theatre bed to the stretcher which we would use to take her out of there. Well I wish we had RIBA.
Designed by a Japanese company; Riken, riba is a nursing assistant with a goal of reducing lifting injuries. Using its high accuracy sensors, RIBA can move patients from bed to bed and also wheelchairs.

  • VITAL VIO

This is out of this world, an antibiotics lightning system for hospital and public spaces that uses blue led lights to create a toxic oxygen level for bacteria yet safe for humans. Amazing!!

The list would go on and on but I will draw the curtain here. Researching out this equipment made me wonder when the health system in Nigeria will be able to provide services in such an advanced method.
