RE: Why the Raspberry Pi makes a great Christmas gift for kids

I had turned my Raspberry Pi into a kodi box for the tv. I never realized how functional it was for everything else. I will have to look into them more as you have given me a few new ideas.

I used a Pi 3 for ages as my Plex client. Not too long ago I switched it out for an Nvidia shield so I can get 4K.

Interesting. I do have a 4k tv so getting content to suit that would be good. Especially since Kodi has lost a lot of services in the past few months. I will take a look at it and see if it would be a better service for me. Thanks.

If you are an iOS user (Apple) the AppleTV now has a 4K option and might be a better fit. I went with the Shield because at the time AppleTV was still 1080P, it did not send audio directly to receiver and decoded it on the AppleTV, and the Shield does 4K game streaming from my PC. But the App Eco system on the Shield is really weak even though it has a lot more horse power.
