RE: Critical review of acupuncture as a therapeutic procedure ; can we call it a placebo?
The conventional salicylates (aspirin), Non steroidal inflammatory drugs - NSAIDS (ibuprofen, Indomethacin etc) and opioids in particular have so far posed the problem of dependency and addiction thus the need for us as humans to start looking into another direction for relieving pain.
I found this to be interesting argument. I agree that we need to seek alternative to these self destructive drugs, though not all. How ever, acupuncture sound to me like a bizzare because of the fact of driving pin through the body. In my opinion, Chinese medicine which is developed from their traditional medicine came up with these discovery and it is never forced on one to accept.
Several years back, chinese medical technique was employed on an uncle of mine suffering from paralysis , he couldn't stand and do anything on his own, but after four weeks of treatment he began to recover, no single drug was administer on him, withing two months, he was on his feet again, and you would not believe that he once suffered from stroke. To me it was not a placebo but something authodox medicine can not explain therefore they disprove it.
Alternative medicine will go along way to help us.
My question is what is the body energy system that acupuncture treatment based on?
Thanks @cyprianj for this. Also some things can be new to some folks especially when they think they should know all.
Then check the post again, there are few typo errors there
Waoooooo..... At first I thought this was a sub post here.
According to the theory it is called qi. I really do have my doubts about this because I haven't seen any proof about its real existence. Hoping one day scientific proof will be available but for now, there is still doubt about the energy-qi
I totally agree with you on this one.
Acupuncture really do work, I know many people the procedure has helped recover pain.
Thanks so much @Steepup for this lovely contribution. As regards the little errors, have fixed it. Lol.... Read this post like almost three times, yet didn't see them until now.
Thanks for your response. There are now lot of alternatives to orthodox medicine............At times we need a third eye to see some typo error since authors do read from their mind. This post is sweet
