Exhibition IntelligensHistorica
An inviting architectural journey through past and future ✨
At the Basilica of Saint Mark , Heraklion Municipal Art Gallery, the exhibition “IntelligensHistorica” presents inspiring proposals by the Technical University of Crete for the restoration and reuse of the Venetian shipyards of Heraklion and Chania.
Part of Greece’s national participation in the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, this exhibition invites you to see how heritage can be thoughtfully reimagined.
Open to the public until January 23, the exhibition highlights the deep historical and cultural importance of the Venetian shipyards, landmarks that shaped the maritime identity, economy, and collective memory of Crete.
Through contemporary architectural vision, these spaces are reintroduced as living parts of the city, connecting heritage with the future.
