Video — Washing the Hands After Contact to Avoid Risk of Typhoid
Hand washing is really something we hear about all the time, but in real life, many people still overlook it. In this short video, I wanted to bring attention back to one of the simplest but most powerful ways we can protect ourselves and others from infection.
As a student nurse, I have come to realize that cleanliness is not just about appearance, it is about safety. Our hands are the part of the body we use for almost everything eating, touching surfaces, handling money, caring for others, and even small daily tasks we don’t think much about. Because of this, our hands easily pick up germs without us knowing.
The video explains why we need to wash our hands using clean running water and soap. Now, there's something we need to take into consideration when washing our hands because our hands carries germs from contact. It could be that someone we shake hands with just blew the mucus out of his nostrils before shaking us and we may not know. We'll use that same hand to buy snacks and hold with our bare hands.
If you've been doing something similar, this video is for you.
