Yes, you should always comment on the selected posts. Maybe put a SV Guild stamp graphic along with a congratulatory message.
Would be fun if sometimes these are selected by community vote right here on Steemit. You could select, say, 5 finalists and then do a post asking the community to vote on the winner. Or else solicit candidate posts from the community. I remember a daily Steemit newspaper (sadly discontinued) which used to do that, and gave the rewards from the voting post to the users that submitted winning recommendations. There were also rules to keep it fair, like you couldn't recommend your own post, you could only do one recommendation per day, recommendation could only be a link with no commentary, etc
Cool sounds interesting, there are some logistics and additional complexity behind implementing that however. perhaps we should continue with the current format for a while and re-evaluate in a month when this format is getting stale we try that as a new idea to keep bringing fresh ways of doing things to Steem.
Sure, got to try things a step at a time and see how it works out. I think this format is great for now, will be fun to see what kind of posts you guys pick!
