Why did humans evolve to lose most of their hair?

The Australopithecus was the first species in the human evolution history.
This early man was covered with fur, like other modern apes.

However, man evolved over time with the progressive disappearance of most hair features.

Why did evolution take this course?

Did it result in biological advantages over previous human generations?

I'm not sure that modern science has a definitive answer to this question (https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/latest-theory-human-body-hair/). That means wild speculation can take over :P

My crackpot theory is that less hairy primates were more attractive and thus had a much higher fitness.
