I took this photo of a banana tree this afternoon, behind my house.

The banana tree belongs to the plantae or plant kingdom, banana trees are also included in the Spermatophyta or group of plants with seeds, even though banana trees do not reproduce by seeds but shoots. Banana trees are included in the class of single or monocot plants.

Every living thing has its own identity in order to differentiate from one another. Not only humans, animals and even plants have their own characteristics, Likewise with bananas

Banana is a plant that can live in high and low areas. This indicates that it is not difficult to cultivate banana trees. In addition, banana trees will also develop and grow well if they are exposed to sunlight.

Like other plants, bananas also have their own characteristics. Bananas are monocot plants, so banana trees have fibrous roots and not taproots. The roots of this plant are brownish in color.

Usually these roots will grow sideways close to the soil surface. Root growth moves and gathers towards the side of the tree along 4-5 meters.

This is why banana trees are easily uprooted. Moreover, banana tree roots cannot reach more than two meters below the ground surface.
