It’s an evergreen shrub, often grown as a climber, the Cape leadwort, blue plumbago or Cape plumbago, is a species of flowering plant in the family of Plumbaginaceae. It’s native to South Africa & Mozambique.

Plumbago is used traditionally to treat warts, broken bones & wounds. It’s taken as a snuff for headaches & as an emetic to dispel bad dreams. A stick of the plant is placed in the thatch of huts to ward off lightning.

It's known for its attractive blue or violet flowers & is often used as an ornamental plant in gardens and landscapes.
Medicinally, it's been used in traditional practices to treat skin conditions, respiratory issues & digestive problems. Additionally, its flowers attract pollinators like bees and hummingbirds, making it a valuable addition to wildlife gardens

It’s free to use stock photo at will.
