Episode 49
Meshach breathed heavily. “You don’t take it, you won’t have Ryan, and
your boss Rominick won’t have his silly revenge on supernatural and doyou have an inkling idea of what will happen to you?” Meshach asked,
raising an eyebrow. “I guess you’re daft as I thought. You will bear the
whole grunt on your petite head! Which I’m very sure this Rominick of
yours won’t spare nothing to have it served on plate.” He tattled.
Xavier grew grimace on his face and touched his head. “Is my head that
small?” He asked whisperingly.
Meshach jeered. “Oh you don’t know? Your head is smaller than nut and
looked like a puppy.” Xavier grunted on hearing that, but Meshach
continued. “And I think the best way to save the small-puppy head now is
to release me and I will tell you how to find Ryan.”
“Idiot! Just shut up” Xavier yelled, hurling his legs on the chair Meshach
was sitting. Meshach had successfully narked him with his words even
though he knew all he said was the blatant truth. Rominick might not only
serve his head on the plate, but also, slice his body into carcass and feed to
the shark of heavens.
Meshach nickered. “Calm down.” He slurred. “All you need to do is to free
me. Period.” He whined, his lips twitching like a mickey-mouse.
Xavier gulped a loud sizzling breath and stared at Meshach. “Ok you won.
I will take the deal.” He muttered. Getting Ryan for Rominick was more important than keeping Meshach and his uncurbed mouth lashing him
with words.
“Good decision, puppy-petite head.” Meshach mouthed, aggressing Xavier
the more. But Xavier ignored, grunting inside.
“So you can tell me now where to find Ryan.” He said, ignoring Meshach
taunt at his face, while he was grunting inside.
Meshach shook his head firmly. “Unlock me, and I will tell you.” He
replied.
Xavier swallowed hard as he brought out bunch of keys from his pocket
and made to unlock Meshach from the bondage. “You don’t try anything
funny, I don’t need to return to remind you that I’m on the vervain.” He
cautioned.
“I’m not scared of the vervain in you; but chill, I won’t have to bite you.”
He retorted.
Meshach sneered. “And why won’t you bite me if you aren’t scared of the
vervain in me.” He asked, sticking a key inside a keyhole of the lock.
“Your blood stinks me. That thing in your mouth is polluting your blood
and you don’t know. And moreover, your puppy-petite head wouldn’t also
make me have you for brunch, just as it is for your stinking blood.”
Meshach replied.
Anger brewed up inside Xavier, but he kept it check. “So how can I catch
Jericho?” He asked sternly.
“Find Lazarus, he is the monk who told me about Ryan Jericho. He told me
he still alive and he needs to find him using a spell.” Meshach divulged.
“And where can I find him?” Xavier asked, standing up.
“I’m not a Google map. Find that yourself.” Meshach said and made to
stand up. But he was restricted with the fetters on his hand and his legs. He
looked perplexed.
“Hey you need to keep to your end of the deal. You need to release me.”
He yelled after Xavier.
Xavier halted his movement and turned to face him. He grinned as he
brought another stick of cigarette into his mouth. He ignited it. “I’m sorry,
but dude with puppy-petite head and stinking blood can’t release you. You
will have to that yourself.” He said and hurled the bunch keys towards
Meshach.
“You bastard! Come and unlock me.” Meshach screamed, struggling to
break free. But Xavier grinned and walked out of the cubicle.
Xavier brought out his phone from his pocket and dialled Rominick’s
Number
Idiot, what do you have for me?” Rominick’s gruff voice slammed into his
ear.
“Hello boss, I have a new target. His a monk, he is Lazarus.” Xavier said
and cut the line.
****
“I need to know if Jamal is your real name.” Lazarus muttered once more.
His eyes juddered in anxiousness for Jamal to say the truth. But instead,
Jamal groaned in annoyance, slamming his fist on forehead.
“I don’t mean to be rude sir, but what you just said is the most stupid thing
I’ve ever heard in my life.” Jamal replied, wrenching the monks hands
from his neck.
The monk sighed, shook his head and crawled back to himself. All he
prayed for was Meshach to arrive and take him to Khalid. Jamal on his
own was relieved that the monk had finally gave him a reprieve from his
provoking questions. He needed time to think about his own predicament
too. The time was fast going and he hadn’t gotten just a glimpse of
Meshach to take him to where his supposed father was. Jamal scoffed, why
would he even trust someone who had lied to him countless of times?
Maybe Meshach was up to another gimmicks he hadn’t detected yet. He
was such a fool to believe such a test message.
