I enjoyed reading this very poignant glimpse into your roots and your heart. I think I would enjoy visiting these old stomping grounds of yours.

I found one of my greatest earthly treasures—my wife—in the midwest, and I have considerable appreciation for midwestern small towns. If the Lewisian imagination of the nature of heaven has merit, we'll see a cleansing and restoration of the best elements of those towns, along with the life-memories of them that we cherish.

However, even if Lewis missed the mark, I have no doubt that we will be reunited joyfully with those among our loved ones who also know the LORD.
