Loner
The boys and girls of his class would look at him with mockery spelt out on their faces. People would burst into laughter whenever he walked pass them. In their eyes he was an eccentric clown. One whose emotions could be taunted without a need for mercy. Many times he cursed himself and hated his being. His abilities he found worthless, he just wanted to fit in. To be loved and accepted. Too many a time he tried to imitate others and abandon his own nature, just to be accepted in circles of friends; but rejection was the only response he got. He didn't mind been used to catch fun and the cruel jokes. He didn't mind been the duff, that was sent to run the errands and left out at important moments. But what he couldn't bear was the look of disgust written all over the faces of those he was trying so hard to please, whenever they saw him. Like he was a thong in their flesh.
No one knew what this rejection was doing to him. It brought a lot of bad thoughts and hatred for the world. Life to him was a ruthless torture, and probably the creator was having fun watching him burn in pains.
That night, 23rd May 2010. A day even dementia, will not be powerful enough to make him forget.
He had left the house for a walk. Lots of thoughts, enough to make a man go mad was going on in his head. He wished he could just stop breathing. Maybe then peace and satisfaction will be attained.
"Making it is the key." He turned to look at the person who just talked, behold it was a sweet looking girl and she was on a call. "Making it is the key. "Once you make it in life, everything will fall in place." She said confidently.
Sadly, she will never know the effects her words had on a bystander. For the first time he smiled his own smile. Though she was addressing someone else, it felt as if the message was for him. As if his creator had directed his steps to the place of his redemption. He walked home with so much joy. "Eureka!" He shouted. Finally he has found it. The right way to live. No more will he try to please others. He will enjoy the solitude of his isolation. He won't put to heart what others say, nor lose himself just to be accepted. He will concentrate on his mental abilities and develop them. "Making it is the key."
He will transfer his energy to making it in life, and if he succeed; everything will fall in place.
Yes! Then he will have the best of everything and the good life. In the process of making it, he might come across like minds, and find true friendship and love. Someday, those who rejected him will crave to have him...
Making it is the key......
