We Are Headed For The Roaring Twenties!!!

in #story8 years ago

It seems history never fails to disappoint as it repeats itself over and over again.

It is the 1920's, there's a certain atmosphere of wealth and success all around us. A widespread economic prosperity roams throughout the western nations as we're spending money like only the rich can. Social life is booming, music is great, the culture is divine and everyone is having a time of their lives. This is much of the life in the 1920's otherwise known as the Roaring Twenties .

Unfortunately though like all good things it came to an end and was replaced by the Great Depression in the 1930's. Caused by a massive fall in stock prices and our irresponsible spending habits. We treated money as if it grew on trees but we forgot to water the our trees. Anyways that was then...

...And today we are in the dawn of a new era

But before we get to that let me mention another part of history that ties up with this new era.

It's the 1990's and a new kind of technology is making waves in the new world of computers. It goes by the term 'internet' which is short for interconnected networks. The great thing about this technology is that it provides for a variety of communication and information facilities. The internet enables us to send messages and information across the world in an instant and would go on to be the vehicle for the World Wide Web, a platform where documents and web resources would be interlinked and accessed via the internet.

This led to an economy based on information technology which gave rise to many new companies looking to tap into this new found economy. A lot of companies are pulling money hand over fist from investors by having a dot com website on the internet. The internet was this great new invention that would change the world and it made sense for us to invest in the future through these companies.

Well, again it didn't work out for us as the majority of the dot-com companies were overvalued and stocks plummeted to the ground leaving us with big holes in our wallets. In fact, we would've been better off holding on to our monies during this time. What prevented this event from affecting the entire population and likely lead to another depression was that it was restricted for the most part to accredited investors only.

The Dawn Of A New Era

A decade later enters cryptocurrencies. A technology made possible by the last technological breakthrough called the 'internet'. It promises to be bigger, better and more disruptive than anything mankind has ever known before. There are ten times more new companies adopting this technology than was the case with dot-com companies. There is more money being poured into the technology as anyone with a penny can invest in these evolutionary companies.

Much like the internet boom back in the early 1990's many projects that are not even companies yet are able to get a lot of money from unsuspecting investors just by associating themselves with the word blockchain. Most of us who are new to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology assume that anything that operates on a blockchain is safe. This has led to a saturation of bad projects that create tokens with no use cases at all besides just being able to be transferred from peer-to-peer using the blockchain.

Now what scares me is that this is building up to potentially be the biggest financial bubble that mankind has ever experienced. Far worse than the Great Depression in the 1930's which is still the worst financial collapse in history. Thus, because cryptocurrencies are a global financial system it means that every country that regulates them will face this Great Depression in the future and it's going to be ten times worse this time around and felt throughout the world.

Not to take anything from cryptocurrencies because they are the great invention our financial system has been waiting for and will continue to be the global form of exchange long after the collapse. What I'm looking forward to is the boom of this market when the old system has transitioned to cryptos and we get our chance to experience what the Roaring Twenties were like for our ancestors.

The reason I'm writing this post is to bring attention to what's at stake here for all of us and our families. We stand to lose absolutely everything in the long-term by investing in cryptocurrencies and should have some backup plan when things inevitably go south and they will. I am no pessimist but when the reality is staring me right in my face I take notice.

We are currently headed toward the Roaring Twenties again, the 2020's that is. The thing about a booming market is that nobody expects it to ever crash and people throw everything they have into it. Once you're in a booming market you get blinded by it and you see nothing else that's why you need to make this mental note right now for when that time comes in a couple of years. Heck, you might as well print this post out and keep it in a safe along with your valuables.

It may all sound like pure speculation right now but history has proven an honest teacher thus far. As the saying goes 'it takes a fool to repeat the same mistake over again and expect a different result'. Pick your positions today, plant your feet, hold firm when volatility strikes on the way up - do not sell until the climax is reached and then fall back to your backup whatever it may be. Wait things out and re-assess after the collapse and only invest in the companies that would've withstood the force of the crash like Amazon did.

These are the last few days we have to secure our positions in the "new system" because when all the big money players come in with their billions of dollars it will be too late then. At this point, you won't even think about buying Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum or any of the good stuff you can get today because they'll be too expensive even for the average millionaire of today. People will be rushing in on last minute to buy anything they can get their hands on and most of the cheap stuff will be junk.

I wish us all the best of luck on this journey as it will be filled with so many joys. I can already imagine the future as if it already happened yesterday and it is so exciting just thinking about it. I hope you'll have bought yourself a first class ticket when the time comes to finally board the ride.

Stay positive and think long-term but for today just have a great day!
