THE WOODEN CAR
There is no condition that is permanent. Life is more valuable than any precious stone of this world.
Joe, a simple carpenter who lives in a small town of the Ho settlement Ghana. He lives with his small family, a wife Jane and two children Frank and Jade. Frank is only 12 years and Jade is 7 respectively. Joe loves his small family so much.
Joe was thoroughly discouraged. From his seat upon the low wall surrounding his little home, he gazed sadly at his simple home and his open carpentry shop in which stood a partially completed wooden car. A dream he has been chasing since childhood. The wife frequently opens the door of their main entrance. She looks to his direction each time she opens the door which quickly reminded him that the meal bag was almost empty and has to be replaced. He does not know what to do for a moment when he hid his nickname "carpi" a name most of the neighbors used to call him but payed no attention rather thinking of how he should be at work finishing the wooden car, hammering and hewing, polishing and painting the wheel rims, preparing it for delivery for bidding contest where he could earn some money for the family even if he wins or not he will get some funds for presenting.
Nevertheless, his fat, muscular body sat stolidly upon the wall. His slow mind was struggling patiently with problem for which he finds no answers. the sun was very scotching but due to his frustration, he could not realize he is under the scotching sun. beads of perspiration formed upon his brow and trickled down unnoticed to lose themselves in the hairy jungle on his chest. Joe always looked down upon himself because he is very poor for his words means nothing among others.
Carpi heard his name again but this time louder than first and he then turned around and there was an old friend from his childhood calling. Carpi jumped off the wall and walled towards him. Although Don's family the worthy type he never treated Joe like an outcast. They exchanged greeting and asked about each others health. By God's grace they were all doing well. Joe then asked Don what he is doing in Ghana for things are now difficult. Don told him he has come to Ghana because his uncle is sick in the hospital though he is rich he has no wife and children and now he has to depend on oxygen in the hospital that is his reason for coming back. there Don asked him what he had been up to all this years. that was when Joe alias Carpi offered his old friend Don to sit with him and he begin his story...
