We are a species forgotten by time,
Buried under the weight of centuries
And living atop a mountain of bones
Trying to recall why it is we're here.
If we could reach back through the memories
And find the first human to walk the land,
How sweet that first rise of our parent Star,
How sweet those first eyes squinting from the glare.
And of the words they could teach us to say
Would they have some for love or for ego,
Or would such selfish concepts escape them
Like how the notion of peace escapes us.
And if we asked them for their history
Would they tilt their head in slight confusion,
Or smile softly and point up at the stars,
Whispering that we're older than we know.
If we could share the fire with the first,
And listen to the songs of history,
What heroes might the first humans sing of,
Indeed why even might the first ones sing?
History has been forgotten by time,
The buried amnesia of a species
Whose cities are built on those of the old
Whose language speaks from deep antiquity.

Cool art, resteemed!
Thanks for the resteem :)
Very thought provoking - having lived in Australia and seen the new theories of the indigenous peoples there and their ancestry, these concepts are like Mobius bands - many Aboriginals still have little concept of the passage of time. Gaining context ... there is a secret.
Beautifully crafted. Thank you.
Your comment is just as thought provoking, thanks for sharing
loved it! did you do the art work too?
Thanks! And no, they're from GIPHY :)
insanely beautiful!!
once world was a grain of sand , then it grew , a rock one might call it , then some say millions of rocks that had water hit it , but how and why, time won't tell , then a moon came out of a blow with a planet, how history has eluded and science deluded , so much more has happened that can be explained and life on board of a spinning wheel has stopped , to return once again in the form of a man
Have to say I realized I was walking on the bones of my ancestors and not only, it's wired how easy it is to think of beauty, but when you dig deep and back enough , it's all rock , time has moved on it seems :D
came from @kalemandra's resteem , so it does work , have to say a great poem , time is timeless, since it's based on perception , follwoing voted and all , Can I use the Gifmation at the end , and can we render out in other gifs that dont make those concentric circles I'm struggling myself with a short animation , I'm guessing it's the 256 colors limit
Thank you for your comment!
please feel free to use that last gif any way you like. I made it for anyone to use :)
