RE: A Geek in Prison - A Life Series by Charlie Shrem (Part 11 - Making Friends)

in #story7 years ago (edited)

I'm enjoying your life series a lot. This is the first time I've commented on one because this is something I've been thinking about recently, facing potential jail time with my on-going drug case. I think I'd be able to make friends easily, but I know they wont be the civil type, which is what I'm afraid of. I've spent a lot of time rehabilitating myself and I'm afraid I may end up down the same path that I was on before I was raided, being influenced the wrong way. I know that probably wont happen because my mind set has changed so much, but I also don't want to go in there, be solitary, and give a group of predators the idea that I'm vulnerable. I will most likely be in some shit hole, and if I'm really unlucky I'll be getting processed via a detention camp for deportation back to my birth country, so potential predators will be of the ugliest. I'm a little fearful but overall I think I'm prepared. I guess I just have to wait until I face whatever's coming.

Please keep these posts coming. I know we have completely different situations but it helps me to read these posts and to learn from someone who has survived prison. Thank you.

Good luck, man. :/ hope you get it sorted out.

Thanks @acidyo. It's been over a year since I was acting meddlesome and my case is only just going through the courts. It should be over and done with by the end of January, according to my lawyer. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worse. If I do go in the slammer, I'll start my own life series inspired by Charlies :D

Hehe, in case you do happen to have to go away for some time. Give someone you trust your posting keys, send them mail from in there that they then post on your account. Thus earning SP while there. :P

Let's hope it won't come to that though. :P

Get in the chat at frankrizzo3 to polish your skills and you can walk on that dope charge.
You have to learn the material well enough to spit it out off the top of your head, that takes practice.
I got mine dropped to misdemeanors because I wasn't prepared enough in the beginning.
If I had been ready to run a trial I probably could have beat it, now I will beat it at arraignment, if there is another.
All you have to do is ask the right questions and don't break weak when the threats come out.
