August 15 — Two Paths, One Family
Today was another one of those days where the route to work became part of the story.
For the second day in a row, Natalie dropped me at the port entrance, and from there I rode my bike the rest of the way to work.
At the plant, we spent most of the day greasing the oil pumps on the storage tanks. Later, while the factory was stopped for the weekend, we painted markings on the factory building.
After work, one of my coworkers drove me part of the way toward Tampa, and then I got back on the bike and pedaled the rest of the way to Luisa and David's place. Natalie dropped Peter there on her way to work, and together we helped them with their website.
One of their employees eventually gave us a ride home.
So that was my day.
But yesterday I started an experiment with my drawings, and today I want to continue it.
Yesterday I showed you a family — a father, his daughter, and his son. They were walking somewhere to find something.
The strange part?
They didn't actually know where it was.
Today, I'm showing you the same family again.
But this is not the same story.
This time, it's just the father and the son.
That's all I'm going to tell you.
They are somewhere out in a huge field, with mountains in the distance. They're following two paths through the grass.
But where are they going?
Why are they there?
What are they looking for?
And why are there two paths?
I know the story.
But I'm not telling you yet. :)
I'm going to keep jumping between different stories about this same family. You may see these people again, but the next picture might belong to a completely different moment in their lives.
Maybe, after enough drawings, we'll have enough pieces to put the stories together.
For now, though...
What do you think is happening here?
Tell me your story.
