Unfortunately the part of the process where you need "Unlock Your Account" where I think we need to provide authorisation using our Steemit account gives an invalid certificate.

I don't want to proceed any further until I am sure it is safe.

Edit:
Tried again same result. I'm not sure exactly what this means - could be a github problem? I would wait until it is resolved.

    Thanks for the remark .. the page is actually github-hosted (so people can see the source code) and does not support SSL. If you remove the s from the https, it should work. I'll fix the link right way.

      I too balked at the request for private key... and if it does not support SSl I will also not provide the key.

        The only alternatives that currently exist are

        • the cli-wallet - command line wallet that comes with the steemd daemon
        • piston - a python command line tool
          Would you be willing to try one of those?
