STRIDER – SEGA - MEGA DRIVE REVIEW
Strider is a platform game for the Mega Drive, among other systems, published by Sega in 1990.
Monstrous creatures appeared on Earth and wiped out almost all of its inhabitants. The person responsible for this atrocity is none other than the evil Grand Master Meio, who seeks to dominate the planet from its base located on the Third Moon.
Fortunately, a group of elite fighters, the Striders, resist the invader's attacks from a small island. Hiryu, one of the most promising young men, receives the difficult task of single-handedly destroying the entire army of the dictator Meio.
Our hero has optimal physical conditions that allow him to perform acrobatic jumps, as well as slide in an almost unstoppable attack. As if that were not enough, he is armed with a plasma sword that can split almost anything in two.
We have several lives, each with an energy meter, and throughout the game we can find different items inside small containers: Immunity, energy recharge and extra lives, as well as valuable robotic allies.
These robots appear in different forms: orbital saucers, an imposing metallic panther, and a kind of flying eagle. The appearance of each variant depends on the one that accompanies us at that moment, and is associated with each segment of our energy, that is, it disappears if we lose it.
Meio's army is made up of a multitude of soldiers, colossal mechanical creatures and grotesque creatures that will have no mercy on us. Finding their weak points is the key to succeeding in this mission.
